Self-Care Planning Guide: Free E-Book

There has been a lot of talk about self-care lately, but what does it really mean? In my last post I wrote about some common myths about self-care that need to end. If you didn’t get the chance to read it, head on over there now.

Self-care is not just about taking bubble baths, practicing meditation or curling up on the couch with a cup of tea and a good book. Self-care is all about making your well-being a priority so that you can go into the world and be the best version of yourself.

Self-Care Planning Guide.pngBlogging has been a big part of my self-care practice for the past year. It has been cathartic and revelatory. It has helped me to return to something that I was once so passionate about and blend it in with my life now. But, blogging is not my career. It is my passion project; it is where I invest my time and energy when I need to decompress, check in with myself and fill up my proverbial cup. In my professional life, I am a college professor and student advisor. I teach English as a Second Language and advise ESL students on their academic, professional and personal paths. Blending my passion for writing with my love for empowering and helping others has been a natural transition for me and today, I get to take it one step further.

Today, I am presenting at the College Association of Language and Literacy Conference. This provincial conference brings together educators from across Ontario who are leading students on their paths to success everyday. I feel incredibly honoured to be able to share my story with all of them and to be able to learn and grow along the way.

Self-care allows you to give the world the best of you instead of what's left of you..pngOne of my presentations (yes – that’s plural; I will be presenting two presentations today!) is on developing self-care strategies for faculty. This is something that is deeply personal to me as it has played a major role in shaping me to be the person I am today. While working on this presentation I became inspired to provide resources for others to help them achieve their wellness goals. One moment I was writing down ideas and the next I found myself compiling everything into an e-book that I am so proud and excited to share with you today.

The Self-Care Planning Guide was crafted with the intention of helping every single one of you reach your full potential by dedicating some of your time and energy into setting yourself up for success. This workbook is full of worksheets and resources for you to get real with yourself and create a self-care plan that will not only encapsulate your holistic self, but it will be realistic and personal to you. There is no “one-size fits all” policy when it comes to self-care. Every single one of you is unique and so your self-care plan deserves to be unique, too.

I created this e-book for my colleagues at the conference, but I am sharing it with all of you today! To download your free copy, simply click here. All I ask is this: be honest with yourself. Allow yourself the time to make this a priority. Don’t let yourself think this is selfish for one moment. Get comfortable and dive deep. Get ready to feel lighter, more energetic and more capable of living the life you’ve always imagined.
